Chapter 24

The two Hyuuga’s stood in there stances and awaited for the referee’s call. Neji narrowed his eyes slightly.

“What do you think you’re doing?” he asked. Hinata looked at him in confusion. “You stand there like you can actually challenge me. Fate has dealt you a bad hand when I’m your opponent. Surrender Hinata, you will find no victory here.” Hinata looked at him with a downcast look. Neji smirked but his mirth was short lived. Hinata stared at him.

“Are you finished?” Hinata asked calmly

“What did you say?” Neji snarled

“Are you finished or do you have more words to say? If you do, then please hurry so we may get our fight going.” She said calmly again

“H-How dare you!”

“I didn’t know you stuttered.” She joked. Everyone stared at her like she was crazy. Naruto laughed his ass off. “The fact is that I will do my best and that will be enough. Fate is what you make it, it is not set in stone and I will prove it. So in the words of my best friend,” She turned her hand to face her. She signaled Neji as if she was telling him to come get it. “Shut up and bring it!”

Neji looked at her with a snarl. It didn’t help that her friend was laughing. He said nothing else and prepared himself. Hayate looked at the two and was shivering a bit under the combined chakra. He started the match and the two Hyuugas charged at each other.

Kurenai was very proud of her student. She had watched over Hinata since she was a Chuunin. She never liked how her father and her family had treated her. She attempted to break her little shyness to no avail. Then Naruto befriended her. She was a bit miffed that he did more to break her shell in such a short period but she was happy for her. She watched as Hinata traded blows with her cousin and was actually keeping up.

Naruto watched as Hinata almost landed a blow to Neji’s chest and dodged Neji’s strike by leaning back. Naruto thought how flexible and quickly shook such thoughts out of his head. Shikamaru who was next to him saw this and smiled.

“Thinking about how flexible she is? I’m not surprised. You are a closet pervert after all.” Shikamaru joked. Naruto growled at him but he quickly smiled. One thing his sister thought him was to not get mad, get even.

“Well at least I respect women. Unlike you, I don’t think that every woman should be barefoot and pregnant.” He said loudly. Shikamaru gulped as every female eye was on him. Their combined glares made the shadow user shrink. Naruto smiled at turned back to the fight. “Kick his ass Hinata.”

Neji growled as he dodged another critical strike to his temple. He had to admit that she had improved yet at the same time it pissed him off that he had not finished this all ready. She had managed to graze him a couple of times and it hurt a lot. He frowned and decided to show Hinata just how weak she was.

He waited for her next strike and took it. Hinata was surprised since the strike was to his chest. She began to wonder why Neji just took that shot when Neji smiled. She realized that something was wrong. Neji grabbed her wrist which made her wince. He pushed her sleeve back to show her some red marks on her arm. Her eyes went wide as it dawned on her.

“So you realize it? Why your strike did not affect me? Now you realize that it’s useless. Now surrender!” he ordered. He applied pressure to her wrist. Hinata was pain but she refused to give up. Using her Byakugan, she saw where her chakra stopped. She gathered her chakra in her other hand. Neji saw this and looked at her bored. He was not prepared for what she did next. She stabbed her arm in three spots and her chakra flowed. Neji was surprised but he couldn’t wonder what happened because Hinata attacked.

Hinata hit a chakra point in his wrist and then hit him with a palm strike to his stomach. She didn’t stop as struck him three more times. She then caught him under his chin. She expelled her chakra that took the form of a dome. Neji watched in horror as she began to spin.

“Hakkeshou Kaiten!! (Eight Divination Palms of the Hand, Heavenly Spin)” Hinata roared. Neji was sent flying as the spinning dome of chakra threw him. Neji hit the ground hard and bounced two times before laying in a heap.

Everyone was speechless. Shy, meek Hinata had just laid out the prodigy of the Hyuuga clan. Neji’s teammates were shocked, Hinata’s teammates were shocked, the Jonins were shocked, the Hokage was shocked and Naruto and Shikamaru were cheering.

“What just happened?” asked Tenten

“I don’t believe it.” Said Ino

“Not only did she re-open her chakra points, she did the Kaiten. I thought she was incapable of doing that technique?” Kakashi asked

“How much has she kept from me?” wondered Kurenai

“I wonder if this is because of her interaction with Naruto and Shikamaru?” wondered Shino

“Wow, that’s impressive. You think that Hiashi will congratulate her on this?” Anko asked Ibiki

“I would be surprised if she becomes clan head after this.” He said

“The fight is not over. Look,” the Hokage said. Neji was the beginning to stand on his feet. He heard Naruto let out a curse. Sarutobi didn’t see Neji’s facial expression but he could only image the glare he was giving his cousin.

Neji was a mess. His hair was ruffled, his ribs ached, his lip was cut and his shoulder felt dislocated. That did not stop him from unleashing a very powerful killer intent. He snarled like an animal and his Byakugan was whiter than usual. Popping his shoulder back in, Neji charged at Hinata. Hinata barely blocked his palm strike, but she didn’t block his hook. Then there was his uppercut to her gut. She spat up some bile but it soon turned to blood as Neji back fisted her. Hinata was dazed so she did not see Neji get into a very dangerous stance.

“HAKKE ROKUJUUYOUSHOU!! (Eight Divination Signs, Sixty-Four Palms of the Hand)”

“Two strikes!”

“Four strikes!”

“Eight strikes!”

“Sixteen strikes!”

“Thirty-two strikes!”

“SIXTY-FOUR STRIKES!!” Neji roared. Hinata took the full barrage and was thrown back into the wall. The wall held her up and she watched as Neji charged at her. She saw that the chakra he had in his was enough to kill her. Neji ignored the call of the ref and his Jonin sensei. She was going to die. Suddenly, he saw something coming at him at high speeds. He couldn’t turn because he had committed to his strike. That’s when he was restrained by Gai. Hayate held his wrist but he was more attentive of the three kunai blades that were near his eyes. Holding it back was a woman in a trench coat. He looked at who was holding it and glared even furthered. It was Naruto. Kakashi also had him restrained and for added effect Shikamaru held him in his Kage Mane no Jutsu (Shadow Imitation Technique).

“Let me go! I’ll rip his fucking eyes out!” Naruto roared

“That’s enough Naruto, do you want to be disqualified?” Anko asked

“He went too far. Hinata didn’t deserve that just because she showed him how much his fate talk was bullshit.” He shouted

“You dare to mock me?” shouted Neji

“Yeah, I mock you. Hinata just showed you how strong the Main house is and you can’t take it.” Neji attempted to get out of Gai’s grip and get to Naruto.

“ENOUGH!!” shouted Sarutobi. “You will both stand down and return to the balcony. Winner of this match is Hyuuga Neji.”

“WHAT!?” shouted Naruto

“Not another word Uzumaki or I will disqualify you. Gai escort your Genin back to the balcony. Anko, take Naruto to the other side and keep watch over him.” Both Jonin nodded and dragged them to the opposite side.

“This ain’t over, believe it!” snarled Naruto

“I’ll destroy you in the next round.” Neji growled. They were led away from each other. Naruto turned to see the medics working on Hinata. Kurenai stood over her and held her hand. Hinata was moving a little but that didn’t quell Naruto’s rage.

‘This isn’t over, not by a long shot.’

Anko watched as Lee and Gaara fought. So far, the mini clone of Gai wasn’t doing to well against the sand wielding ninja. While everyone had there eyes glued to the fight, one person was glaring holes through a white eyed Genin. The kunai in his hand stabbed the wall, creating a knife shaped hole. Anko sighed and bopped him in the head.

“What the hell?” Naruto snarled

“Don’t snarl at me. There’s a great fight going on and you’re missing it.” Anko said

“I don’t care about the fight. Besides, he hasn’t gotten pass that freaky sand of his yet.” He said.

“Good to know that you’re paying attention. Look, I know that you’re upset that Neji advanced,”

“Understatement!” Naruto mumbled. That earned him a bop in his head.

“Any way, Hayate didn’t stop him and Hinata was incapable to fight back. She lost and you know it.”

“Of course I know it but he went too far. Hinata is stronger than any one gives her credit for. Hell, she had to deal with that prick blaming her for something that wasn’t her fault. Not to mention her dad has a stick farther up his ass than Sasuke does.” Anko chuckled at that. Leave it to her otouto to insult the head of the Hyuugas. He sighed. “I know how stronger Hinata is and I knew that she would have probably lost but she would have lost on her terms. When I saw her get it like that, I just lost it. Hinata is my best friend.”

The females on his side awed at Naruto. Kankuro muttered, calling him a chump, which got him brained by Temari. Kiba did the same and was whapped in the head by Kurenai. Anko wrapped him in a hug.

“Oh, that’s so cute. Why can’t Iruka be like that?” Anko pouted

“Maybe because rape, no matter what gender, is illegal.” Naruto commented. Anko glared at him and began to choke him. The fight ended when the ground shook. Anko and Naruto turned to the fight just as Lee disappeared.

Naruto felt bad for Lee as he was carried off by the medics. That Gaara was a lucky person. If his gourd did not cushion his fall then the fight would have been Lee’s. It gave him some ideas on what to do against the sand ninja but he would need to work on it. That left just two people left. It seemed kind of funny that his whole team fought all the members of the sound.

“Last fight; Uzumaki Naruto vs. Abumi Zaku.” Hayate said. Naruto prepared to jump down when he stopped by Anko.

“Now, remember what I told you.” Anko said. Naruto just frowned at her.

“Yeah, yeah, no killing, no disembowelment, no surgical removal and no stringing him up and cooking him on a spit. I got it. Jeez, you’re such an adult.” Naruto said

“Shut up and get going.” Anko said. Naruto jumped down and landed on the ground. Zaku looked at him. Naruto just stretched out a waited. He just smirked and called out to him.

“What did that bitch tell you? It doesn’t matter what advice she gave you, I’ll be sending you along side your girlfriend.” Zaku said. Naruto just looked at him. He then turned to Anko.

“If the medics ask, his murder was just.” He called out.

“Agreed.” She shouted back. Naruto waited for Hayate to start the match.
