Chapter 19

Team seven walked around in the forest in a calm silence. Sasuke took point while Sakura was behind him. Naruto took the rear in order to watch their backs. Naruto was quite bored with just walking around the dense woodland.

“Hey leader,” was his sarcastic reply. “Are we going to walk around all day? What’s our plan?”

“We find a team, we beat them up, we take their scroll and we get to the tower.” Sasuke said

“That’s it, that’s the plan.” Naruto asked. When Sasuke did not answer, Naruto sighed. “We are so going to die.”

“Don’t say that Naruto. We’ll be just fine.” Sakura said

“You sound confident. I thought you would be the first to jump out of your skin.”

“Please, I may have been worried before but I am a ninja of Konoha. I have nerves of steel.” There was suddenly a scream and Sakura jumped onto Sasuke. She literally wrapped around the boy like a snake.

“Oh yeah, nerves of steel, I'm so confident in you. You should un-coil yourself from the teme. I’m going to take a leak. Don’t peak on me Sakura.” Naruto left before Sakura could retort. Once he was out of sight, he stood in front of a tree and released himself. He let out a sigh of relief as he felt the liquid come out. After a few seconds, he got an annoyed tick on his head.

“You know, if you prefer men, I could talk to my teammate because I don’t swing that way.” He said. A figure jumped off the branch and landed behind him. He rushed Naruto from behind. Just as he was about to slam his head into the tree, his hand touch a smooth surface.

“What the hell?” the ninja said

“Amazing what you can do with mirrors huh?” a voice said from all directions. The ninja looked around him. “I’m so glad that you’re a Rain-nin. I’ve been waiting to get my hands on one for a week. Prepare to get your ass handed to you.” Naruto said. The Rain-nin looked up just as several Naruto coming from out of the trees.

Sasuke cursed as the Rain-nin escaped. He wanted to follow him but he didn’t know where Naruto was. He turned to Sakura who was taking deep breaths. She was tired but adrenaline that was rushing through her kept her up and alert. He had to admit that she came through in that little fight. She had used her Moya Kyougijou to disappear from view while he was fighting the Rain ninja. When the Rain ninja landed on the ground, Sasuke realized that his opponent began to sink into the ground. While the ninja attempted to get loose, Sasuke hit him with Katon: Hōsenka no Jutsu. Realizing that he was in a genjutsu, he dispelled it and got away. He was impressed and looked at the kunoichi in a different light. There was a sudden snap that caught Sakura’s and Sasuke’s attention. They threw various shuriken where the noise originated. There were several sounds of metal hitting wood.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, it’s me. It’s Naruto. Stop throwing stuff at me.” Naruto shouted

“How do we know that? Say something that only ‘you’ would say.” Sakura ordered

“You secretly want to rape Sasuke when he’s asleep, Sasuke likes men and you’re both complete idiots.” He said. Sakura was red in the face, weather from embarrassment or anger, you couldn’t tell. Sasuke just glared.

“Come out dobe.” Sasuke ordered. Naruto hesitantly poked his head out.

“Are you guys going to kill me?” he asked

“As much as I want to, we need you to finish the exam.” Sakura mumbled. Naruto just grinned and walked to his teammates. He took in the damage that surrounded him.

“Looks like you guys had a fight with someone.”

“It was a Rain-nin. He took your form in order to trick us.” Sakura explained

“So that’s why one of those guys moved away. That also means that the third one had the scroll.” Naruto said while thinking.

“You were attacked too?” asked Sasuke

“Yeah but he shouldn’t bother us for a while. He and his team may also have some trouble hiding for a while too.” He said with a grin

“Do I even want to know?” asked Sakura. Naruto thought back to that moment in time.

--Flashback--

Naruto had his opponent face down in the dirt. After his surprise attack on the Rain ninja, he searched for his scroll but did not find one. He was about to let this go and get back to his team but he remembered what happen while he was training with Sakura. His mind made up. He dragged the Rain ninja to where he actually released himself. The ninja woke up just in time to watch as Naruto drive his face into the mud that was made by Naruto’s urine. The ninja struggled and muffled curses to the blond as he had a crazy grin on his face.

“Do you like that? Does it taste delicious?”

--Present--

“Well,” he began

“I don’t want to know.” She said

“Let’s get going. Our small fight may attract other guests.” Sasuke said. Team seven nodded and disappeared into the tress.

Anko sat on the lookout roof in complete boredom. She had a lot of time before anyone got to the tower and was just wasting her time here. She had left for a few minutes to seek out her crush, Iruka. She wondered why he never took the Jonin exam because as elusive as he was he could have easily passed. She sighed and began to think of Naruto. She was sure that he could pass. It didn’t ease her mind however because Naruto had become like family to her. She just hoped that he knew when to run when he realized he was over his head. Then again, this was Naruto she was thinking about. Common sense was not one of his best qualities. Suddenly, she felt the air shift next to her. She turned to see one of the Chuunin examiners.

“Anko-san, we need you to come and take a look at something.” He said

“What is it?” she asked

“I think it would be better if you come and see.” He said and disappeared. Curious, Anko followed him. She appeared around gate twelve where there were two more examiners. She walked up to them.

“So, what is so important?” she asked

“Look at this.” One of them said. She looked and saw three dead bodies. This was not new to her but the face that they were missing their faces is what disturbed her.

“We found them like this two hours into the exam. It seems that they have been dead earlier than that.” He explained

“Go and inform the Hokage. Also, summon the ANBU. I’m heading into the forest.” She said coldly.

“Ma’am?”

“Don’t just stand there. Get going and tell him that we have an intruder in the exams.” Anko shouted

“Yes ma’am.” He said and disappeared. Anko jumped over the gate and into the forest. A scowl was on her face as she ran though the trees.

‘What are you doing back here, Orochimaru?’

Naruto groaned as he began to stand up from his little trip. After getting away from the battlegrounds, the team sat down and talked about knowing how to identify who was who. Sasuke came up with the most retarded password in all history. What was even more retarded was that Sakura agreed with it. How in the hell was he going to remember such a long password? That’s when this got really weird. The wind began to pick up. That was not too uncommon but when said wind was leveling everything in its path, now there was a problem. At least Sakura did attempt to help him. Now, he needed to find his beloved teammates before they got killed. Suddenly, Naruto got the feeling that he was no longer alone. He was restrained forcefully and was forced to face his restrainer. That restrainer happed to be a very large snake.

‘Man, why is it always me? What wrong could I have done to deserve this? Is it for all the pranks I pulled? The adults liked the last one.’ He thought. The reptile looked at him and opened its massive jaws.

Sasuke and Sakura were having a rough time as well. After the surprising wind, Sasuke and Sakura went to look for Naruto. They found him and asked for the password. When Naruto gave them the password, Sasuke attacked with a Katon jutsu. Sakura told the fake that the real Naruto would never remember such a password and threw some shuriken. The fake dodged both attacks by using a Kawarimi no Jutsu (Change of Body Stance Technique). The fake was revealed to be a Grass kunoichi. The woman congratulated them on a job well done and challenged the two for their scroll. Once it was accepted, she unleashed a massive killer intent. It froze both Sasuke and Sakura in fear as they were shown how they would die. Just as she charged to give them the finally blow, Sasuke stabbed his leg and undid the effects of the intent. He grabbed Sakura and ran for it. The woman chuckled and decided to hunt them.

Sasuke landed when he believed that they were far enough. Sakura had got out of her stupor and was now breathing quite ragged.

“S-S-Sasuke-kun, what was that? I kept seeing my death.” Sakura said

“I don’t know. That may have been a genjutsu but no genin should have that much of a killer intent.” Sasuke said

“What should we do?” she asked

“We should find the dobe and keep moving.” He said

“Running away are we? That won’t do at all.” A slithery voice said. The two turned to see a massive snake coming toward them. On it head was the crazy Grass kunoichi. The two prepared to move when another snake came out of no where. It crashed into the woman snake and bit down on its throat. The Grass ninja looked shocked to see another snake.

‘Did Anko find me?’ she thought. Suddenly she felt a very strong blow to her jaw. It sent her flying but she flipped and landed soft against a tree. She rubbed her jaw and noticed a bruise forming. She turned to see that it was not Anko that attacked but the blond that was supposed to be dead. She narrowed her eyes at him. Naruto looked at his teammates but quickly turned back to the enemy. It was something that Anko drilled into his head.

“Are you guys all right?” he asked

“Naruto?” Sakura asked

“Who else saves both of your asses?”

“Where the hell have you been dobe?” Sasuke growled

“And when did you learn to summon?” Sakura added

“Summon? I don’t know how to do that. That snake tried to eat me and I used my jutsu on it so I could control it. I found you guys when I felt a spike of chakra.” Naruto answered

“My, my, my, what an interesting jutsu you have.” The Grass ninja spoke. She turned to the two fighting snakes and dismissed them. “I was sure that my pet would finish you off but I have clearly underestimated you Naruto-kun. Turning a summon creature against the summoner is an amazing feat.”

“So you summoned that thing here? That would make you… no, it can’t be. Oneesan’s teacher was a male, so you must be one of his underlings.” Naruto said quickly. The Grass ninja smirked at this. She had seen the boy get a bit riled up when she mentioned her summons.

‘So, little Anko didn’t tell him everything about her past with me.’ “You could say that. Why do you wish to know?”

“Because your sensei hurt my oneesan and he’s going to pay for it.” Naruto declared. Oh, this was just getting better and better.

“Well, we will have to see if you have it in you to do that. Perhaps you will provide me with a bit more entertainment than your teammates.” She challenged

“Don’t worry about that. I’ll give you the show of a lifetime.” Naruto said

“Wait Naruto, don’t go rushing in.” Sakura shouted but it was too late. Naruto leap after the Grass ninja in order to bash her head in. The woman just smiled.

Authors’ Notes: Sorry, this took so long. I had things to do that took up most of my time. Anyway, I have an announcement to make. I have discontinued Only Human. My reason for this is because I did not like how the story was going. As I attempted to make it better, the plot got away from me and I was unable to brainstorm a storyline. It pissed me off a bit and I kind of bitched about it. I know there are going to be some pissed off reviewers who like the story but I just can’t get a grasp of what I want to do with this story idea. So whoever what to do a fic like Only Human, go ahead. Anyway, I hope you like the new installment.
