Sakura smiles. Her smile makes her face look more alive than it ever did when she was younger. This smile means that she is happy and that she has achieved something important to her.

Naruto grins but the second after it turns out as a sigh. The sigh tells that he is tired -and bored- of the duties given to him. It is not that he doesn’t want them, it is more that he’d like to do something else for a while.

Sasuke looks up to the sky. His face tells nothing but there is not much to tell, for that matter. The things he has done do not mean much, they only mean that he has done something. But that is enough for him.

Sakura thinks that she is stronger now. It’s good that she is not stupid, this way she can recognize her thoughts as truthful ones and knows that what she thinks isn’t a lie. Now she doesn’t have to look at the backs of others anymore, now she can look at their profiles and on some faces she can see pride, on some faces she can see tenderness, on some faces she can see respect, but the one that matters most is the one face where she can see love.

Naruto thinks that he is bored. He’d like to have a good spar with someone, or argue a little, or have ramen. However, he can do none of those, because he is far too busy to leave his desk filled with paperwork and other useless crap to enjoy himself more. He never realized that getting a respected title would give him so many responsibilities because, granted, Naruto is stupid. Too stupid to realize that his ancestors wouldn’t have died so easily if they hadn’t been sitting beside their goddamn desks for all day long.

Sasuke thinks that he’s earned some sleep. His tired -not bored-tired, but too-old-to-do-this-tired- and thinks that he’d like to rest for a while. He never thought that after doing something this important to himself would affect him in any way but now he knows that he wasn’t right. He’s not sad, he only feels that something inside him has clicked to its right place and gives him the ability to feel once again. And he quite likes the feeling to feel.

Sakura has fulfilled her ambition and can protect those important to her.

Naruto has made his dream come true and has become the Hokage.

Sasuke has finished his goal and killed his brother.

And now they are complete.
